I have taken the decision not to restock the Hessian range. It is a slow seller takes up much needed space and resources. The figures have been reduced in price and once they’re gone they will only be available from Fife and Drum Miniatures in America.
First can I thank everyone who has bought the General Montcalm set, so far it has raised £415 and that has been sent to Richards widow.
As of today I have four outstanding orders and they are waiting for new stock of Montcalm. Hopefully they should be with me in the next 10-14 days.
I will be publishing a newsletter shortly announcing some changes , new figures and future plans.
In the meantime Happy Easter
I received the metal masters of the last set of sculpts Richard did for me. One set is General Montcalm both mounted and dismounted – I have decided that all the sales from this set will be given to his widow Coral.
It may not be a lot but I feel it is the least I can do and as this was the last personality he sculpted then it would be good if the figures were a recognition of his work.
Thank you for your support
Having completed a stock check on the majority of figures I hold and with no shows on the cards until July? I thought it was time to have an Early Spring sale. So starting today and until the 14th March there is 20% off all orders over £60.
As usual this does not include unit or army packs which are already discounted. Neither does it include the Fife and Drum range or Flags as a stock check is still to be done on these and I will hold another sale on the AWI range later in March.
Just use the coupon code EarlySpring2021 at checkout.
Any problems just e.mail and I will sort it for you.
Some of you may already be aware but at the weekend I was made aware of the death of Richard Ansell. He died of a heart attack on the 11th February .
Richard was my primary sculptor and if it hadn’t been for his support, encouragement and skill then Crann Tara Miniatures would never have been born. We have worked together for 10 years and he will be sorely missed.
I feel his skills and talent have not been recognised as much as they should have in this day of chunky figures with exaggerated features.
Richard Clarke was a good friend and he has posted an interesting piece on Lard News https://toofatlardies.co.uk/blog/
My thoughts are with his wife Coral at this difficult time.
I’m pleased to say I have added some new pieces in the shop, there are the Rangers in caps, another pack of civilian militia skirmishing and the marching pack now contains 6 different figures.
The revised GM10 figure is in and the repaired Jaeger Officer is also in stock, ( some new photos need to be taken 🙂 )
First can I thank everyone who placed an order using the Christmas discount code. It proved to be a lot more popular than I anticipated.
I hope to have all orders cleared by the end of this week if there are any problems I shall be in touch.
If I can sort Mailchimp out I shall be sending out a new newsletter shortly outlining what’s coming next year.
In the meantime keep safe and enjoy the festive season as best you can
I’ve decided to offer an early discount on all orders over £30 whilst we are continuing to face more disruption to our lives. From now until the 5th December spend over £30 on figures ( does not include the already discounted unit deals) enter the coupon code Christmas20 and you should receive the discount ( any problems get in touch)
I have more figures on order from Griffin and shall do my best to update stock levels.
It’s been a while since I updated and apologies for that. The new Fife and Drum miniatures have eventually been added to the shop and decent stocks of the French Indian War militia and Civilians are held.
The new charging French have been selling well and I am waiting on new stocks of these figures although some stock is still available.
I apologise that posting of parcels is still a little slower than I would like but I am still trying to only go to the Post Office once a week and unfortunately there appears to be no end in sight of the ongoing restrictions..
I have finished the conversions of Rangers in leather caps and am working on some militia conversions to go for casting shortly.
If you have any questions don’t hesitate to get in touch, thanks for your continued support and keep safe.
I received the new greens for the French Indian War from Richard this week and sent them straight off to Griffin. They will be up for pre.order in a couple of weeks as Griffin are so busy current turn around is running at 4-6 weeks.
I am due new stock next week which is a relief and that should include stock of the new Saxons and the Fife and Drum Morgans rifles.
More news will be going out in the Newsletter later today.
