Having completed a stock check on the majority of figures I hold and with no shows on the cards until July? I thought it was time to have an Early Spring sale. So starting today and until the 14th March there is 20% off all orders over £60.

As usual this does not include unit or army packs which are already discounted. Neither does it include the Fife and Drum range or Flags as a stock check is still to be done on these and I will hold another sale on the AWI range later in March.

Just use the coupon code EarlySpring2021 at checkout.

Any problems just e.mail and I will sort it for you.

Some of you may already be aware but at the weekend I was made aware of the death of Richard Ansell. He died of a heart attack on the 11th February .

Richard was my primary sculptor and if it hadn’t been for his support, encouragement and skill then Crann Tara Miniatures would never have been born. We have worked together for 10 years and he will be sorely missed.

I feel his skills and talent have not been recognised as much as they should have in this day of chunky figures with exaggerated features.

Richard Clarke was a good friend and he has posted an interesting piece on Lard News

My thoughts are with his wife Coral at this difficult time.

I’m pleased to say I have added some new pieces in the shop, there are the Rangers in caps, another pack of civilian militia skirmishing and the marching pack now contains 6 different figures.

The revised GM10 figure is in and the repaired Jaeger Officer is also in stock, ( some new photos need to be taken 🙂 )

Welcome to Crann Tara Miniatures

This is a range of 1/56 scale figures (approximately 30mm in height) the majority of the figure are sculpted by Richard Ansell, however Andy Stadden has sculpted the Saxons and pieces across the other ranges.

John Dougan also sculpts part time and his main interest is the War in Savoy and we will see more from him over time.

I have decided to focus on the period in the mid-1740’s the armies of Britain and France continue to expand as figures for the War in Canada and the Caribbean are being added. Savoy and Spain have also seen additions and the army of Saxony is almost complete. There are still some surprises planned over the next 12 months.

Cast in white metal by Griffin moulds these figures are some of the finest sculpted and cast. They are fully compatible with Fife and Drum miniatures and Minden Miniatures both of which are available from Jim Purkey in America.
