A quick thanks for all the pre.orders for the new Saxon figures. They have sold well. I am up to date now with all outstanding orders and next week I shall be away until the 18th visiting my son in Chicago and as good as my wife is packing toy soldiers is not high on her agenda 🙂

When I return the Saxon packs will  be added to the store. I also have two new projects in the pipeline both of which I am extremely excited about and I shall announce them before Christmas. I am also hopeful that Andy will be on with the second wave of Saxons before too long. His wife has been seriously ill and quite rightly he has taken some time out to care for her.

Watch this space for some exciting news.

The early Saxon masters have arrived and will be off to Griffin on Monday for moulds to be made. There are a couple of tweaks to be done to a few figures prior to production but this will not delay release which I anticipate will be in 6-8 weeks.

Therefore I am offering unit deals – these offers will run for the next 4 weeks or so and can be found under ‘Saxons’ inthe War of the Austrian Succession area of the shop

In essence but a unit of infantry or cavalry at 10% discount (24 infantry or 12 cavalry)

Buy a brigade of infantry or cavalry at 15% discount (3 regiments)

or go all out and get an army – 3 Brigades of Infantry, a brigade of Cuirassiers and a battery of artillery at 20% discount saving £86 on rrp.

The prices displayed on the shop are the discounted prices.

Welcome to Crann Tara Miniatures

This is a range of 1/56 scale figures (approximately 30mm in height) the figures were originally sculpted by Richard Ansell, however Andy Stadden has now taken up the mantle.

John Dougan also sculpts part time and his main interest is the War in Savoy and we will see more from him over time.

We aim to make this the most comprehensive range of figures for the ’45 rebellion.  This year should bring the Rebellion range of figures almost to an end.

I have decided to focus on the period in the mid-1740’s and therefore releases for the French, British, Savoia and Spain ( The Savoia, Spanish and some of the French are sculpted by John Dougan) are also appearing and there will be a few surprises along the way.

Cast in white metal by Griffin moulds these figures are some of the finest sculpted and cast. They are fully compatible with Fife and Drum miniatures and Minden Miniatures both of which are available from Jim Purkey in America.
